After airing in the US, season 2 of Interview with the Vampire will finally debut on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer with returning cast members and new faces joining the series
A hit US TV series is set to finally air its second season on UK screens. Interview with The Vampire was originally broadcast to an American audience but its second season will be aired on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer.
The series sees Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson), Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid) and Claudia (Bailey Bass) and their epic story of love, blood and the perils of immortality, as told to journalist Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian).
The series centres on the titular interview between aging journalist Daniel and his subject, Louis, a nearly 150-year-old vampire. The two previously did an unpublished interview about 50 years prior in San Francisco, and Louis now wants to set the record straight.
Every episode of season 2 of Interview with the Vampire will be released on Thursday, August 1. On the same day, the first episode will air at 9pm on BBC Two and air weekly.
But who appears in the cast for season 2, episode 1?
Jacob Anderson as Louis de Pointe du Lac
Born in Bristol, Jacob is best known for his role as Grey Worm in dozens of episodes of Game of Thrones. The actor has also starred in Broadchurch, Doctor Who, Outnumbered and 2008 film Adulthood.
Outside of acting, he is a musician under the alias Raleigh Ritchie.
Sam Reid as Lestat de Lioncourt
The Australian actor is a rising star in TV and film and is widely known for his roles in Lambs of God, The Newsreader and The Hunting. He has also appeared in numerous British dramas like Endeavour, Whitechapel and Spooks and even played Prince Harry in TV film The Taking of Prince Harry.
Eric Bogosian as Daniel Molloy
Bogosian has a seasoned career predominantly in TV, with multiple appearances in films. He recently appeared as the Bernie Sanders-inspired Gil Eavis in Succession, Collin Eisley in Elementary, Law & Order: Criminal Intent and Billions.
He appeared as Arno Moradian in the 2019 American crime thriller film Uncut Gems, as well as Blade: Trinity, Beavis and Butt-Head Do America, Reptile and Rebel in the Rye.
Assad Zaman as Armand
Armand is Louis’ lover in the series and plays a key role in the series. The 34-year-old has appeared in various TV shows including Apple Tree Yard, Hotel Portofino and Small Axe and numerous stage productions.
Delainey Hayles as Claudia
Delainey Hayles replaced Bailey Bass who was unable to return due to unforeseen circ*mstances. This is Hayles’ first big role after appearances in Holby City and ITV drama Too Close.
Ben Daniels as Santiago
Ben Daniels joins the cast for season 2 as Santiago. He is the leading thespian of the vampiric troupe the Théâtre des Vampires, who is increasingly suspicious of Louis and Claudia.
Ben Daniels is a familiar face for British TV viewers thanks to his appearances on Cutting It, The Virgin Queen, Law & Order: UK, The Paradise, Adam Galloway in House of Cards, Father Marcus Keane in The Exorcist, and Foundation.

What can we expect from season 2?
Showrunner and creator Rolin Jones shared what fans can expect across season 2: "There are big plot moments that we're retaining from it, but there are these emotional moments, too, within our plot, that might be slightly different than what’s in the book. I'm feeling really, really excited about that.
"We’re going to Europe and part 2 of the novel is episode 1 of season 2. So, we're going there and we're going to experience that.
"Then we're going to Paris. We're going to see what coven life is all about, and we have some more time than the movie or even the book.
"We're continuing to make the interview part of this just as important as the flashback, in that there are some very active things that are going to be happening in Dubai.
"Then, more than anything, and we teased it out a little in season 1, the idea of memory and what is true and what isn't true is a big player in season 2.
"It's all going towards, groping towards, 'Who am I? How did I get here? What is to become of me now?' There's a lot!"
