He is the youngest of four siblings. Dickinson was raised with his siblings in Highams Park located in the London Borough of Waltham Forest.
At an early age, he developed a passion for acting which led him to enroll in a performing arts school Raw Academy and began studying film and theatre. After school, he began auditions for roles in films and TV shows due to which he was unable to complete his education. He dropped out of school at the age of seventeen.
Career – Since childhood, he dreamed about becoming an actor only. After being dropped out of school, Harris went for auditions in the hope of getting roles in films and TV shows but that was not easy for him. Prior to making his professional acting debut in the entertainment industry, he wrote, edited, and directed his own short films titled Who Cares (2013), Surface (2014), and Drop (2015).
In 2014, Harris Dickinson made his television debut after appearing in two episodes of Bernadette Davis’s sitcom series Some Girls. He played the role of Tonka alongside Adelayo Adedayo, Dolly Wells, Mandeep Dhillon, and Jassa Ahluwalia. Later that year, he played Stanley in a short film titled Battle Lines.
In 2017, He marked his film debut in the American drama Beach Rats. The film was written and directed by Eliza Hittman and was screened at the U.S. Dramatic Competition section of the 2017 Sundance Film Festival. He portrayed the character of Frankie and shared screen space alongside Madeline Weinstein, Kate Hodge, and Neal Huff. In the same year, he appeared in two more television series titled Silent Witness and Clique.
Between 2018 to 2021, he was cast in several films including Postcards from London, The Darkest Minds, Matthias & Maxime, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, and The Souvenir Part II. He rose to fame after being cast as Conrad in the third installment of the Kingsman film series titled The King’s Man which also earned him his first BAFTA Film Award nomination for the EE Rising Star Award. In the 2022 satirical dark comedy film Triangle of Sadness, Harris Dickson played Carl.
